Williams sisters to meet in final
The Australian Open Women’s semi finals are complete and for the ninth time in Grand Slam history the final will be contested by Venus and Serena Williams.
The historic sisters are both well into the twilight stages of their respective careers but age hasn’t hampered Serena (35) or Venus (36).
Thirteenth seed Venus will be aiming to win her eighth Grand Slam title and first since Wimbledon in 2008 where she defeated her younger sister in the final.
Serena is chasing her 23rd Grand Slam title, a feat that would place her second on the all time leader board behind only Margaret Court.
“She is my toughest opponent, no-one has ever beaten me as much as Venus.
“I feel no matter what that we have both won after all we have been through. I know a Williams is going to win this tournament.”
