NRL Round 13 tips

With Origin looming, we have reached that sticky time of the year when clubs battle to put up strong performances without their representative stars. Regardless of a team’s current position on the ladder, wins during origin period are always crucial. Half of the teams have the week off with the bye, but that still leaves four matches to predict.

Sea Eagles v Cowboys

Manly – Two struggling teams. Both teams lost by one last Friday, but there is absolutely no doubt that Manly should’ve put that game to bed last week and won. In saying that, even with Thurston and Scott playing, the Cowboys have just been so disappointing. Manly to win.

Rabbitohs v Sharks

Sharks – Souths were electric last week in New Zealand, but it’s hard to argue that Cronulla weren’t just as good even though they played a struggling Newcastle outfit. I really think South Sydney will struggle without Damien Cook while Cronulla are only missing Val Holmes. Sharks to make it seven straight.

Eels v Knights

Eels – Both sides were defeated last weekend but Newcastle were extremely disappointing. They’re really struggling without Mitchell Pearce. The Eels are due for a win and in front of a home crowd, I believe they will get the two points.

Roosters v Tigers

Roosters – The Roosters are slowly but surely showing some promise after failing to meet huge expectations at the beginning of the season. The Tigers won in a tight one against the Bulldogs, but I believe Cronk and Keary will step it up a notch and the Roosters will win at home.

3 things to look forward to:

1. Bunnies and Sharks battle it out on Friday night.

2. The Eels aim for their first win since Round 8.

3. State of Origin on Wednesday (keep an eye out for Birdlike’s upcoming preview).
